Construction began on April 2, 2008. In the last month access to the Northwest Service Road from 23 Avenue was closed and is slated to re-open May 2010. Access to the service road during construction will be available from 31 Avenue or further south at the access adjacent to the Ivory Club.

This month construction crews will begin the replacement of the existing concrete noise wall along the west side of Calgary Trail from 23 Avenue to 19 Avenue, single lane widening of 23 Avenue east of 105 Street and Parsons road to 99 Street, and drainage work in the northeast and southwest quadrants of the 23 Avenue Interchange.

Bridge approaches and retaining wall work, lane widening on the east side of Gateway Boulevard northbound from 23 Avenue to 34 Avenue, storm sewer work, and bridge pile installation at 23 Avenue interchange will all continue.

The rehabilitation and painting of the concrete noise wall on the west side of Calgary Trail south of 19 Avenue and South Edmonton Common access is completed.
